Stroke Center Receives Certification
Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) was nationally certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission in September.
The Stroke Center was recognized for its coordinated care of stroke patients across departments and its ability to provide emergency rapid response treatments. The hospital's team includes emergency physicians, neurologists, surgeons, nurses and radiologists, who are trained to recognize and respond appropriately to the patient who may be having a stroke.
ARMC's stroke care includes:
- A trained stroke team for patient evaluation
- Uniform and extensive guidelines that address emergency treatment and ongoing care
- A head CT scan or brain MRI scan, if required
- Neurosurgical care, if needed
