Community Calendar

SAFE SITTER® CLASSES
This class will help 11- to 13-year-olds learn how to babysit. Instructors teach the basics of child care, first aid, CPR, when to call for emergency help and how to run a babysitting business. The cost is $45 per student.

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR is offered three times monthly.

Second Tuesday of each month, 6–8:30 PM (renewal only)
Third Saturday of each month, 9–11:30 AM (renewal only)

Diabetes and Nutrition Education

Physician referral is required. Class fees may be covered by personal insurance.

Diabetes Coaching Classes
This class will help you develop and prioritize diabetes management goals, identify challenges and develop strategies for maintaining optimal glucose control. This is a two-hour class designed as an annual "fine-tuning" and is a follow-up to Taking Control.

Carbohydrate Counting and More: Medical Nutrition Therapy for Diabetes
This 90-minute class focuses on nutrition for diabetes management and heart-healthy eating. Covered topics include:

  • Carbohydrate counting
  • Weight management
  • Disordered eating
  • Intensive insulin management
  • Meal management
